Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12 ESV)
Dear Jesus, Having hope is easy when times are good. But Your Word tells us to rejoice in it, but there’s no caveat about only rejoining when things are going our way. And since You are our hope and salvation, we can look to You and find peace in all circumstances. Please give us patience, Jesus, especially as we navigate the hard roads. Help us look to You knowing all of this is temporary and You have offered us so much more. May we turn to You in prayer not just when we’re desperate, but for everything — may we bring it all to Your feet and give you both the bad and the good…. The heartbreak and the happiness…. The sorrow and the celebration. Thank You Jesus that no matter our situations, if we’ve trusted in You, we have You. Forever. And in that truth, we can easily “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer.” In the Holy Name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
