My Grace-Full Life

A Prayer for 9.23.20

The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. You shall keep them, O Lord, You shall preserve them from this generation forever. The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness is exalted among the sons of men. (Psalm 12:6-8 NKJV)

Dear Heavenly Father, Sometimes, when we read Your Word, and especially a passage like Psalm 12, we’re reminded that times may change, but people don’t. The corruption in the world of 2020 was also experienced by Your servant, David, when he penned this Psalm. But Your Word is always true. Always pure. Always right. Always perfect. While it feels like the world is beyond hope, and as David so aptly said, “vileness is exalted,” may we remember that You have the final Word. You have already won. May we see what You have to say rather than what the world has to say and may we rest in the comfort of Your goodness.  Thank You for keeping Your Word and Your promises. Thank You that You have already written the last page and evil does not win. In Jesus’ perfect Name, Amen.
