But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.” When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.” (Matthew 8:8 and 10 ESV)
Dear Jesus, Our world is filled with campaigns of what “matters.” “This” matters and “that” matters. We’re so focused on our individual beliefs of what is important, but at the end of the day — what truly matters for all eternity is faith in You. Faith matters. And today, Jesus, I ask You to give me the faith of a Roman Centurion. A faith so powerful and strong that it left You marveling in amazement. Give me faith so that when I pray for those I love, it will cause You to look at me with marvel and say as You said to the Roman Centurion — “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” Thank You, Jesus, for the power of faith. Thank You that faith matters. It’s in Your Holy and perfect Name, I pray, Amen.
