Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! (1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV)
Dear Jesus, We are a self-sufficient people. We like to do things on our own and stand on our strength. But the truth is, our own strength is feeble and unreliable. We don’t like to admit that. So Lord, help us look to You. You are the Rock that will never leave us shaken. It’s You who gives strength when our own is depleted. But it starts with our search for You. Please put it on our hearts to search for You daily. Moment by moment. And please don’t let us be content in our own self-sufficient ways but recognize our desperate need for You in every situation. In Your Holy Name, I pray, Amen.
