But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Dear Heavenly Father, The things that are happening in our world are terrible. The callousness, hostility, hatred, and selfishness — all of this is predicted. We shouldn’t be surprised. We know these things are a sign of the times. We ask you to please help us remember that You are still in control, even when things feel crazy and uncertain. You have a plan. Thank You that You have promised to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3) and that You will restore and make all things new (1 Peter 5:18, Revelation 21:5). In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
