Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, I’ve woken up with a heavy heart when I see what’s happening in the world and it is so clear that Satan is busy, getting as much chaos and destruction in as he can before You put an end to the horrors he’s been afflicting since Adam and Eve fell to sin. Indeed, when we think of terrorists, Satan is leading them all… God, help me to be aware of the real enemy. As I hear about the decisions made by our nation’s leaders, see images of what’s happening in Afghanistan, and read about what the Taliban is doing—my heart hurts and I’m praying for You to show the world Your power… Your goodness will always shine bright and drown out the darkness of evil. Use all of this to demonstrate that You’re still in control and You have a plan. Help me to trust when I don’t understand what You have allowed and give me wisdom to know how to pray. Please give me the courage to pray for Your will because I know that ultimately — You win. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
