Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14:34 NKJV)
Holy Spirit, According to a report by Open Doors US, Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. And according to Family Council Research, tolerance for Christian faith is on the decline in western countries, including America. Religious persecution is on the doorstep of the very nation that promises freedom of religion… we’re feeling the impact of this even now because our nation has chosen sin. Our country prefers the darkness to the light. And the impact of these sins is far reaching because sin is never isolating in the hurt and pain it causes. It hurts many and when we magnify the sins upon sins the world is embracing — the weight of it all is crushing. Yet, Your Word says, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV). So please embolden Your followers that we may bring light of Jesus into our ever-darkening world. The more we can expose the sins, and the more the consequences of sinful decay are seen, the more people will recognize the truth and our need for righteousness which is only found in Jesus Christ. Please strengthen us against this increasing hostility. Help us to remember to wear Your armor and show others the Fruit of Your Spirit in all things. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
