My Grace-Full Life

A Prayer for 5.31.21

The memory of the righteous is blessed. (Proverbs 10:7a NKJV)

Dear Heavenly Father, on Memorial Day, we remember those who died in service to America, and today, we thank You for the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. For those who died and still have families grieving, we ask You to give them comfort. Thank You for the freedom our Constitution declares, and I ask that You will equip our leaders to remember it and honor it. But most of all, as we reflect on the freedom bought by American soldiers, help us to be ever-mindful of the freedom bought and paid for by Jesus Christ — the freedom we find at the foot of the cross and the freedom we are given when we give our lives to Him. May we treasure our national freedom, yes. But nothing in this world is guaranteed. Only freedom in Jesus is eternal. In His Name, Amen.
