“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
Dear Lord God, Just as You promised the Israelites held in captivity by the Babylonians, we know You have a plan for us too. We know Your children can trust in You, and be confident that no matter that happens, our prosperity is found in the inheritance of Your salvation through the hope we have in Jesus. Because of His finished work on the cross, when we trust in Him, we are promised an eternal future with You. Please help us to keep perspective of what is temporary versus what is everlasting. And above all, help us to keep our eyes on Jesus and listen to what the Holy Spirit puts on our hearts. Please help us to remember that Your plans are never confusing and that You’re not a God of confusion, but clarity. Please give us wisdom and remind us that Your Words from Jeremiah 29:11 are for us too. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
