Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies. (Psalm 141:4 NKJV)
Heavenly Father, Charles Swindoll said, “It is a mute reminder that sin, in spite of all its allurement and excitement, carries with it heavy weights of sorrow, grief, misery, barrenness, and pain. It is the other side of the ‘eat, drink, and be merry’ coin.” The wisdom here cannot be denied. Lord, sin may look good, but it never offers what Jesus gives. Please help us to weigh the cost of sin and remember — it’s not worth it. Help us to reject the things that draw us away from You and choose the things that bring You glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
