Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb that was hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before. (Luke 23:53 NKJV)
Dear Heavenly Father, During this season, we focus on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. But Holy Saturday holds an important reminder for us. While everyone who loved Jesus grieved on this in-between day, hope was not really lost. For those who mourn today or face despair, sadness, depression, or any kind of anguish — this Saturday in between reminds us that hope is never dead for those who have trusted in Jesus Christ. When we are tempted to despair, remind us of this darkest Saturday in human history…. When hope felt like it was crushed and defeated…. Remind us of this truth: on Sunday morning, the Son did rise. So no situation is hopeless because You are always at work. You make impossible things happen because You are the one true living God. Thank You that because of the saving work of Jesus Christ, hope is never dead. And You always have a plan. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
