My Grace-Full Life

A Prayer for 3.9.21

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1 NKJV)

Dear Holy Spirit, We ask You to give wisdom to preachers and those called to teach. Help them to speak with Truth, even when it’s hard or unpopular. Do not let them be deceived by what the world calls good. Give them wisdom and understanding because there is a true risk and responsibility that goes with that role. Jesus said in Matthew 18:6, “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” And yet, we have our own responsibility too.  Please give us spiritual discernment to know what is true to the Bible. Please help us to remember that men of God are still men. And that no one is perfect. When something gives us pause for thought, direct us to Scripture and let us see for ourselves what You have to say about any and everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
