Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world… (Philippians 2:14-15 NKJV)
Jesus, the temptation to complain is real and we easily fall into it, often forgetting that it’s unproductive and sinful — complaining has roots in gossip, jealousy, selfishness, and ingratitude. But to rise above our complaints would be an example to the world where complaints abound. Help us to change our perspective. Protect us from the temptation to bemoan the things we complain about and when we do need to vent and get those emotions off our chests — remind us to come to You. Help us to turn to prayer above all else. In Your Name, Amen.
