Dear Jesus, You taught the disciple John about love. This man who once shared the nickname, “Sons of Thunder,” became a passionate spokesman for Your love and goodness. He would later write, “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” How true and this wisdom comes from a life that was transformed by You — a life change we can still witness 2000 years later. Help us to be loving too — not just in what we say but in everything we do. May we show others the love of Christ because You loved us first — loved us enough to put love into action on the cross and even to the point of death. Thank You, Jesus, for what You did for us. Help us now to live for You. In Your Holy Name, Amen.
