Jesus wept. (John 11:35 NKJV)
Jesus, You knew You would raise Lazarus from the dead in only a few more minutes. But still, Your compassion and tender heart wept for the moment. In our moments of hurt, sadness, and pain — the fact that You wept shows us that You understand our valleys. You know and relate to our hurting hearts. In the painful times in our lives, help us to remember that You still have a plan. You are at work. You haven’t reached an obstacle that is too big or a challenge that is too hard — after all, it only took a few words for You to bring a dead man back to life. We may weep for a time, but Your name will be glorified when we trust in You and rejoice through the pain. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
