Dear Heavenly Father, When Your Word speaks of unity, please help us remember that You meant unity with the church and other believers…. Not unity with the world. Help us to remember that Paul wrote that we should not be conformed to the world (Romans 12:2)… Help us to remember that John wrote that we should not love the world or the things of the world (1 John 2:15-17)… And most of all, help us to remember that Jesus said, “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you” (John 15:19). Our love and devotion is for You and we are called to be one body for the Church. Help us to be united as brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us to resist the pull of the world to separate us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
