When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. (Matthew 2:10 NKJV)
Dear Jesus, I didn’t see the star last night. The Christmas star was covered up by clouds every time I went outside to look. But nonetheless, the star has served a great purpose — it’s reminded the world that there was a very special star that led the Wise Men to You. And today, those who are wise still seek You. The star isn’t needed as a guide because we have Your Holy Word. And it tells us in many passages that those who seek You with their whole hearts will find You, including my favorite of those verses, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). So though I didn’t see the star, I have Your promise that I will see the Son. And that is all that matters. Thank You, Jesus! In Your Name, I pray, Amen.
