My Grace-Full Life

A Prayer for 11.8.20

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. (Psalm 43:5 ESV)

Dear Jesus, No matter how we feel about the election — hopeful or discouraged — You alone are worthy of praise. Let those who are hopeful remember to place their hope where it belongs — in YOU, and not in a politician. And let those who are discouraged remember that You are worthy of hope and praise, even in situations when uncertainty and fear loom so large. As emotions run high, and fears are very real among many, may we collectively unite despite our differences — not over policy or politics.  But may we unite in a common love for You, our King and Savior.  I pray this in Your Holy Name, Amen.
