The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6 NKJV)
Dear Jesus, Part of me wants You to hurry up and rapture Your church. And part of me wants You to wait because people I love aren’t ready. But goodness, Lord. This world is getting scarier by the day. I realize now how much I’ve taken my freedom of religion and freedom of speech for granted… But as censorship becomes more pervasive and many of our rights teeter on the verge of extinction, I realized something else… While our leaders and big tech and media govern, censor, lie, and mislead — You don’t. Even though all power belongs to You, You still offer freedom to choose. You’ve provided us the way to salvation, and You allow us to make our choice — because true love always gives a choice. Until You return for Your church, things are going to get harder. You predicted this in Your Word, and none of what is happening is a surprise to You. Help me to remember the words of the psalmist, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” And the answer is… nothing. Remind my heart of what Jesus said in Matthew 10:28, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” No matter what and no matter how hard things get, I choose You. I choose to trust You. I will surrender to no one but You. No one is in control of my life except You. And You alone are worthy of my worship, adoration, and loyalty. And I will not be silent about it. In Your Name, I pray, Amen.
