My Grace-Full Life

A Prayer for 1.17.21

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:17 NKJV)

Dear Jesus, in John 17, You prayed for Your disciples, but Your prayer always included us. In verse 20, You said, “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word.” Thank You for including all believers, including me, in Your prayer. In Your prayer, You said, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” Lord, please help us. So many are confused by false doctrines and beliefs. The false faiths of the world permeate along with worldly ideas that we are expected to just accept lest we be judged as “hateful,” or “close-minded.” But in Your truth – we are free. Help us to discern what Your word says and choose it over what the world says. Let the noise of the world and the falsehoods of wrong ideas be muted and may we focus on living and speaking Your truth. Let every word that comes from our mouths…. Every thought that crosses our minds…. Every step we take and action we make…. Let all of it be filtered through the Truth of Your Perfect Holy Word. Your Scriptures say that we should not add or subtract from the Holy Bible. So please — if we say, think, or do anything that is contrary to the Truth of Your word — convict our hearts. Direct us so that we can speak only Your truth. In Your Holy Name, I pray, Amen.
