PRAYER PROMPT ••• Good morning, and thank you for reading!
Today marks SIX MONTHS of daily Prayer Prompts!
That may not seem a big deal to some, but it is to me.
I’m very happy with all the opportunities God has given me these last six months and I can’t wait to see what He has planned for the months and years ahead!
With that said, today, I want to go to Isaiah 1:12 and the last part of verse 13.
In these verses, the Lord is speaking, “When you come to worship me, who asked you to parade through my courts with all your ceremony? … I want no more of your pious meetings.”
This speaks to the major change in my priorities over the last year.
I didn’t just want to put in my hour at church every week.
I wanted more!
I wanted a faith-walk that wasn’t based on ritual or routine.
I wanted to grow and learn and become bold in my faith… I wanted to know Jesus on a far deeper level.
I wanted to give God what He asks for — authentic worship.
Based on a genuine love for Him.
Revelation 3:16 says, “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!”
As I’ve grown in my faith, I realize how terrible that image is.
Using my coffee as an example – it’s best when it’s hot.
I don’t like cold coffee and I really don’t like it when it’s in the middle…
God wants our faith to be on fire for Him!
He wants us to be consumed with a heartfelt desire for Him and following His ways and His plan!
Anything less than that upsets Him!
We get so consumed by our daily to-do lists that we forget to pray.
We forget to talk to Him.
And what happens when we fail to communicate with our friends?
The relationships suffer.
Our relationship with God is no different, but in this case, neglecting that relationship, or basing it on pomp and circumstance that isn’t authentic and heartfelt, leads to eternal consequences.
Today, as you pray, ask God to put your faith on fire.
Ask Him to help you shift your focus to Him, trusting that through Him, anything is possible.
Pray He will use you in powerful ways as you grow in Christ Jesus.
