My Grace-Full Life

9.2.17 Prayer Prompt: God is Great and God is Good

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Have you ever had one of those weeks where you’re just drained of energy?
And no amount of coffee is getting the job done?
I think I’ve had one of those weeks for about a month now.
And as a coffee girl who drinks more than her fair share on a daily basis anyway, it doesn’t seem to be working.
I drank four cups last night and still struggled to stay awake for the “I’m home now” text from my son (who went to a concert 1 1/2 hours away in the middle of a thunderstorm and tornado warning! And he wonders why I have to keep getting my hair colored!)
I have felt like I’ve been dragging, and I really don’t like this feeling.
Thankfully, we serve a God who offers to give us rest and offered to carry our burdens (Matthew 11:28-30).
We serve a God who has promised to supply all our needs (Philippians 4:19).
We serve a God who made us and knows us from the inside out (Psalm 139:13).
We serve a God who loves us (John 3:16).
We serve a God who knows our future (Jeremiah 29:11).
We serve a God who offers us strength (Isaiah 41:10).
We serve a God who tells us not to worry (Matthew 6:34).
We serve a God in whom it is safe to trust (Psalm 22:4-5).
We serve a God who is in control (Romans 8:28).
We serve a God who is making all things new (Revelation 21:5).
When you’re feeling overwhelmed and tired, look to the Father.
His word is full of wisdom to offer you anything you need to keep going.
And after that exercise and reminder, I’m ready to take on the day.
How about you?
Aren’t those such empowering reminders of how great God is?
And those are just the tip of the iceberg!
Today, as you pray, thank God for being all you need.
Thank Him that He’s promised to help you carry your load, and supply your needs.
Thank Him for knowing your heart better than you do, for loving you, and for having your future planned.
Thank Him that through Him, we are strong and we don’t need to worry about what tomorrow brings.
Thank Him for being trustworthy and in control.
Thank Him for making beauty from ashes as He makes all things new and beautiful.
