9.17.18 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Praying For Others

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• In James 5:16, it says, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
We know we should pray for others, but it’s easy to forget.
We hear of a tragic story, or get a phone call, and say, “Of course I’ll pray!”
But how often do we?
It’s easy to let it slip to the bottom of our crazy-busy-to-do list.
But praying for others is one of the easiest and most effective ways we can demonstrate our love for other people — even our enemies (Jesus told us to pray for them too!).
Make a weekly list if you need to (my method!), but be diligent about it.
And remember, even the Holy Spirit is praying for you (Romans 8:26) so let us not neglect our prayers for others.
Today as you pray, lift up people in your life in prayer.
Tell the Holy Spirit that while you may not know the details of their circumstances, He does.
Ask for Him to intercede as He wills and above all, for God’s will to be done in all situations.
