My Grace-Full Life

8.19.17 Prayer Prompt: What is Your "Faith-imony?"

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Everyone has a story.
I’ve been writing / interviewing people since 2008, and I know – every story is unique.
And for the most part, I’ve learned people enjoy sharing their story with others.
In the Christian-world, the story of how we came to know Christ is referred to as our testimony.
These are often shared at retreats or in camp situations, but to be honest, I wish they were shared more regularly.
I think they are fascinating to hear.
Our Heavenly Father reaches us and uses us in such individual ways and our testimonies are further evidence of His great love for us.
He gives us all unique experiences and stories to share.
Yesterday, on Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study’s Facebook page, a woman was interviewed about her story.
I encourage you to watch it, but short version, she was kicked by a horse and while at the hospital, they discovered a brain tumor.
Her surgery is coming up next week and I hope you’ll join me in praying for her.
Though the surgery is yet to come, her story is already a powerful testament to her great faith in God.
As I listened to her, the word that popped in my head was “faith-imony.”
It wasn’t just a story she was telling, but an extraordinary tale of tremendous faith.
What would the world be like if we were all that courageous to publicly share what God has done for us?!
Romans 10:12-15 talks about the importance of sharing the Gospel publicly.
Otherwise, how will others be saved?
How will others know the love of Jesus if those of us who believe stay quiet?
How will others know of His great power and grace if we don’t tell them?
I encourage you to share not just your story with others, but share your faith.
Talk about the great things God has done in your life and how He is working in you and through you.
Today, as you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to make you bold about sharing your own faith-imony with someone who needs to hear it.
Ask Him to open doors for you to share how God is working in your life and the Good News of Jesus Christ.
