PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• My husband is an incredibly methodical man who operates under the motto, “A place for everything and everything in its place.” He loves containers and organization. So you can imagine my surprise yesterday when he called me from the grocery store and told me he had lost his debit card. It is so not like him to misplace anything, much less something like a debit card!
He thought he must have left the card in his jeans when he had placed an order a few days earlier. We had laundry going so I quickly checked the washer and dryer—no card. He was waiting to buy some groceries so I hopped in the car and met him at the store with mine.
After I got home, I started retracing his steps. He had been in the basement when he placed the order. I looked underneath furniture, looked under cushions… Wayne came home and began his search. He looked through all the laundry again, under everything, and even walked the entire yard since he’d mowed too.
Collectively, we spent over an hour looking. Just as we were about to call the bank and report it lost, we decided to stop and pray.
We found the card within five minutes.
It was a reminder that God is just waiting for us to call on Him. He’s waiting for us to surrender to Him and let Him help us.
Philippians 4:6 ESV tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Whatever is going on in your life—take it to the Lord in prayer. He always answers. Sometimes “Yes.” Sometimes “No.” And my least favorite—sometimes “Wait.” But He always answers.
Today, as you pray, thank God for His willingness to help us when we call out to Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep prayer on your heart and mind in all things.
