7.21.17 Prayer Prompt: Friends with Others; Friends with Jesus

PRAYER PROMPT ••• We are social beings.
God always intended for us to enjoy companionship of friends.
From the beginning in Genesis 2:18 when the Lord said, “It is not good for man to be alone,” to later, in Romans 5:11, which says, “So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.”
Of course, quality is the key.
When we surround ourselves with people who love Jesus, the pettiness and jealousies that sometimes accompany friendships tend to fall away in the mutual love of Christ.
I’m learning this in a new way as I spend time with women who are sold out for Jesus!
I’m going to write a recap of She Speaks next week (pre-conference was AH. MAZ. ING.), but I just felt led to write about the importance of Christian friends this morning…
Christian friends who are more than Christians by name.
But Christian friends who boldly live their faith through action.
Today, as you pray, ask God to bring you strong Christian friends who will uplift you and encourage you to grow in your friendship with Jesus.
Ask Him to let you blossom so others will ask you about Jesus, and you can share.
And while you’re praying, pray that our Christian community will unite to serve God as the body of Christ through genuine love and enthusiasm for one another’s talents, gifts, and calling!
