7.2.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: A New Day

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• I’m not naturally a morning person, but I’ve trained myself to become one.
Most mornings, I get up pretty easily, albeit after I hit the snooze for about 30 minutes on the multiple alarms I have on my phone.
And recently, I somehow keep taking screenshots of my alarm with my new iPhone.
I keep finding these random screenshots of my alarm alerts every day after I wake up.
I guess it’s the button placement??
Anyway, I’m trying to train myself to get up 30 minutes earlier.
It takes time, much to my husband’s dismay since he typically hears my alarms before I do.
But no matter what time I get up, I’m grateful for a new day.
God does not sleep (Psalm 121:4) and we can sleep peacefully because He is with us (Psalm 4:8).
And we can wake up refreshed and praise Him for giving us rest.
And from that rest, we can share in the words of the Psalmist, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
It is a new day and His mercies are new (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Today, as you pray, thank God that He has watched over you as you slept and thank Him for giving you a new day.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see His mercies with fresh eyes and to rejoice and be glad.
