PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• A few months ago, I started walking a few mornings a week with a dear friend of mine.
We were averaging about two miles but the majority of it—I hobbled through.
Every time I went walking with her, I had a raging case of shin splints.
Admittedly, my shoes were crazy old and unlike most women, I don’t like to buy shoes (I’m a purse girl!).
But I went to the store and was fitted.
It’s amazing what the right pair of shoes can do!
We’re up to about three miles now and I’m about ready to add another.
When I was fitted for my shoes, the guy helping me was scrutinizing my feet with intensity, pondering how the shoes would perform.
He was looking for details and nuances I wouldn’t have thought about.
But he definitely knew what he was doing!
In Proverbs 4:26, it says, “Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.”
In this case, it’s not about pondering our feet but our path.
Proverbs 3:6 tells us “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
And in John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The path to ponder is Jesus who guides and directs us.
When we ponder Him, we are confident, sure-footed, and we can be assured that we will not fall.
Because even if we stumble, Jesus will be there to keep us steady.
Today, as you pray, thank Jesus for His guidance.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you be focused on Jesus and confident in the path you walk with Him.
