PRAYER PROMPT ••• I started these Prayer Prompts exactly three months ago, and at the time, I worried I’d run out of ideas.
Left to my own devices, this project would have petered out quite a while ago.
But early on, I stopped looking at my “inspiration list,” and turned to God for guidance.
Since He is the Author of our faith, it’s ridiculous that I thought for even a minute that inspiration should come from another source.
But I digress…
Today, let’s talk about our walk.
We start our day in a pair of shoes that are appropriate to the day’s expectations.
Going running? Wear tennis shoes.
Going to the beach? Wear flip flops.
Dressing up? Wear high heels.
And so on… we match our shoes to our outfit and purpose.
When we get beyond the literal and move into the figurative, the question becomes a bit different.
When we go into the world as Christians, are we starting our day by walking in the Word?
Or are we running out the door without our proper faith-wear?
The Bible speaks to this as an armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-17, but for the sake of today’s illustration, let’s focus on verse 15, which says, “and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”
Have you started your day in the Word?
Do you know you can trust Jesus to support you and carry you through all of today’s ups and downs and wherever the road takes you?
Today, as you pray, ask God to help you strengthen your walk with Him.
Ask Him to remind your heart of scripture that will equip you on any road you travel.
Ask Him to guide your steps and take you on the route He wants you to go, even if it’s not the path you want to take.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
