PRAYER PROMPT ••• A few days ago, a friend shared how frustrated she was about a certain prayer request.
As she told me of her discouragement, I understood it all too well.
Like many of us, I have a prayer request that I consistently pray for day in and day out.
And sometimes, it does feel like we aren’t being heard.
We want to beg God for a sign.
For momentum.
Even just a nudge to show us things are progressing!
As I tried to encourage my friend, I realized, Jesus gave us that conversation not only for her benefit, but for mine too.
Together, we were able to remember God’s promise that ANYTHING we ask for that lines up with His will, He will answer (1 John 3:22).
We remembered the promise that our prayers have power (James 5:16).
Our job, while we wait, is to not give up, not be discouraged, but trust in the timing of God (Psalm 27:14).
We are to remember He sees the big picture while we only have a glimpse at a small, minuscule fraction of the canvas of our lives (John 13:7).
We are to be persistent, not discouraged.
We are to be like the widow who consistently went before the judge in Luke 18:1-8.
We are to continue pleading our case before God; He does hear us.
And as my friend and I talked, we pre-celebrated the day when our prayers will be answered…
The day we will look back and realize there WAS momentum…
There WAS progress.
The hand of God is moving even now!
I cannot wait to see what He does with my request!
I know He has wonderful things planned!
Today, as you pray, pre-celebrate the power of God’s amazing plan!
Pre-thank Him for His work in your life, and His answers to your prayer requests!
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
