6.29.22 Personalize the Word: Philippians 1:6

PERSONALIZE THE WORD:  Philippians 1:6 NKJV

ORIGINAL VERSE:

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

PERSONALIZE IT:

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in _________ will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

Holy Spirit, All of those who call themselves children of God are ongoing works in progress. We want to follow our Father’s will, but we wrestle with our own flesh and temptations. Help us, Lord… help us to have a teachable spirit as well as hearts that are willing to be molded and changed to be more like Jesus. In His Name, Amen.

Disclaimer:  This is not meant to re-write Scripture. The Bible is clear that we are not to add or takeaway from it. However, if you’re a new believer — you may struggle to figure out how these verses apply to you… or if you’re a seasoned believer, you may have grown numb to the words from familiarity.  This exercise isn’t meant to alter or change God’s Word or the context of the verse.  Instead, the goal is to remind us how personal His Word is. The Bible is God’s love letter to you and me. As one person put it, “The Bible is the only book, where the Author is in love with the reader.”
