PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• When we pray, we want the comfort of knowing God has listened.
The great thing is —He does.
But sometimes, we have to stop and remind ourselves that we need to stop and listen too.
Communication works that way… and sometimes, it’s not our turn to talk. God is always present.
But because He speaks in gentle whispers, it can be hard to hear His voice (1 Kings 19:12).
That’s why reading His word is such a critical part of our relationship with Him.
In Romans 10:17, it says, “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.”
And what better authority on Christ is there than the Holy Bible?
The more we read, the more we open our hearts to His truth, the more we hear directly from Him…
He tells us through the Word how much He loves us.
He tells us of His grace…
And His justice.
He has so much to say to us.
It’s not a question of whether He’s listening to us, but are we listening to Him?
Today, as you pray, thank God for listening to you, but ask the Holy Spirit to help you listen to Him.
Ask Him to help you focus on the small whispers of God so you can know Him better and by doing so, grow more confident in your faith and understanding of His plan for your life.
