6.22.17 Prayer Prompt: Remember to Whom You Belong

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Some days, you just need to stop and remember to whom you belong.
The chaos of the world coupled with busy agendas and a never ending to-do list are one thing.
Most of us have adjusted to the mad, frantic pace our society expects of us.
But it’s another when you feel your heart is shattered.
When someone you care about delivers a sucker punch you didn’t see coming.
These are the moments when you have to stop and remember – Who is really in charge?
God is and for those who have accepted His Son, Jesus, we are His.
Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
When we are discouraged and worn down, we need to remember that we were loved so much that Jesus was willing to die for us; it really puts things in perspective.
Living for Him is what matters; you don’t need the approval of family or friends because living for Christ means you’re only seeking the approval of One.
Tucked in the middle of that verse from Galatians are four little words that serve as a powerful reminder: “I live by faith.”
I can’t see it.
I can’t feel it.
I can’t touch it.
But it’s real.
And because we have faith in Jesus, He is strong enough to carry us through the darkest of days.
Today, as you pray, ask God to help you keep perspective; to remind your heart that you are loved and cherished by the One who made you.
Ask Him to help you remember to whom you belong.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
