PRAYER PROMPT ••• Yesterday, we talked about storms, and specifically, how we can count on Jesus to never abandon us, no matter how fierce the waves.
We can also depend on God’s promises.
He’s demonstrated time and again that He honors His word.
The promise He made to Noah still appears today – the rainbow, God’s promise that He would never again destroy the world with a flood.
Yet, how often do we act suspicious of God’s promises?
The promise that Jesus’ death on the cross as payment for our sins is regarded as suspicious because it seems so incomprehensible to us.
The promise that we can accept salvation, rather than earn it, seems too easy.
That God can perfectly forget the sins we confess is baffling to us because we are such imperfect forgetters.
Yet, all of that is true because God promised it!
God’s faithfulness surrounds us, but sometimes, we are too blind to see it.
Today, as you pray, ask God to open your eyes and heart to see just how trustworthy He is.
Ask Him to remind you often that while people make fail and break promises, He never will.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
