My Grace-Full Life

6.14.17 Prayer Prompt: Praying for Faith

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Ever since I began my walk with God, three words have repeatedly defined my faith-journey: Grace. Prayer. Faith.
God’s endless and abundant grace overwhelms me.
Our ability to communicate with Him through prayer is a gift not to be taken for granted.
And faith is the belief that with God, anything is possible.
This morning, I woke up with faith on my mind.
I’m certain you know the scripture from Matthew 17:20 which says, “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
But do you ever feel your faith falter?
Faith isn’t of our own strength!
Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus Himself is the author and perfecter of our faith.
So it stands to reason that it’s perfectly acceptable (and a good thing!) to pray for the very faith we need!
Today, as you pray, ask God to perfect and strengthen your faith.
Ask Him to give you faith to persevere through prayers… for faith as you wait on His timing!
Ask for the faith that enables you to claim the promise from Jeremiah 29:12, “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.”
SIDENOTE: For the better part of the last year, I’ve prayed for something and yesterday, God answered my prayer! Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” God is good! He hears our prayers and He answers us!
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
