5.4.17 Prayer Prompt: The Force

PRAYER PROMPT ••• I gave birth to a Star Wars fan, and I married one.
So I’m very aware of “May the Fourth Day.”
In Star Wars, a constant phrase is used over and over, “May the Force be with you.”
The Force is a type of power that gives a Jedi his strength.
Getting beyond the movies now – we all have access to a true Force when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior.
The Holy Spirit lives within all believers from the moment we accept Jesus into our hearts.
And when we surrender our will and let Him take charge of our lives, He enables us and empowers us.
In 1 Corinthians 1:27-29, we learn that God doesn’t call the qualified.
Instead, He qualifies the called.
Whatever your purpose is — and God created you for a purpose — the Holy Spirit is going to equip you with the ability to do it.
He’s going to be the “force” that enables you to do things you’d have never been able to do without Him.
Luke 1:37 says, “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Then, Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Finally, Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
Those verses reinforce three specific points:

  1. Nothing is impossible with God.
  2. God works out everything for those He calls.
  3. God gives us the strength to do things we couldn’t do without Him.

Today, as you pray, ask Jesus to help you surrender your will so that the Holy Spirit can fully use you.
Ask Him to empower you and strengthen you for what you are called to do.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
