PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Yesterday was rainy and kind of dreary…
A stay-at-home-and-in-my-pajamas kind of day.
Don’t get me wrong, I was productive.
I wrote four articles and did some volunteer work!
I even helped my husband install a new soap dispenser on our kitchen sink.
But this morning is another dreary day.
And I can’t spend another day in my pajamas (they tend to frown on that kind of attire at work).
What is it about the rain that just makes you tired?
The rest of the week is supposed to be like this too.
And I’ve got a crazy-busy week ahead.
No time for being tired.
I long for a bright day full of sun.
I need the energizing encouragement of the sun, but more than that—I need the Son.
We all do.
There are days when we are spiritually tired and wonder if anything we do or pray about makes a difference.
Jesus reminds us that He is working in us, but we have to let Him be the Son-shine in our lives every day.
And that energizing encouragement is amazing and powerful.
In Jeremiah 31:25 ESV, the Lord said, “For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”
In our most exhausted moments, our Lord is waiting for us to come to Him for rest.
He doesn’t want us burned out and lacking in energy.
And so He promises to give us the rest and recharge we need.
Today, as you pray, thank Jesus for being the bright Son we need, even on cloudy, dreary days.
Thank Him for His willingness to replenish you and give you rest.
Ask Him to help you, encourage you, and re-energize you.
