TODAY’S SIGNATURE VERSE ••• The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)
PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Morning came really early today… After so much rain this week and temperatures unseasonably cool, the temptation to stay bundled up in bed was very real.
But here we are. Despite all the fears, uncertainties, worries, and anxieties of the last few months—He proves again that He is faithful. Because God has given us a new day.
Yesterday on the radio, the DJ talked about starting the day with praise to God for waking us up. I thank God for a new day most mornings, but today, I didn’t wait for my coffee or my prayer journal. I hit snooze for the 364th time and I started praying from my pillow. I began thanking God for His breath in my lungs and His faithfulness for a new day to seek Him and be used by Him.
Lamentations 3:22-23 is a favorite for many and with good reason. It beautifully says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
When we combine that with the truth—that God’s breath is what gives us life (Genesis 2:7), we have no reason to not praise Him! If you woke up this morning, it’s because He still has plans for you!
Today, as you pray, praise God for His breath of life! Praise Him for His faithfulness every day! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you keep praise on your lips and in your heart as you navigate this new day that God has given you.
