PRAYER PROMPT ••• In Philippians 4:13, it says, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
This includes the strength to keep praying for things without being discouraged, especially when my timing and God’s don’t line up.
They call it a PUSH Prayer — Pray Until Something Happens.
It’s an ongoing, constant prayer rooted in tremendous faith and belief that God honors His promises.
The thing to note about a PUSH Prayer, of course, is the prayer must line up with God’s will, plan, and purpose.
Persistent prayers that treat God like a genie whose purpose is to do OUR will don’t qualify; but whatever we pray in His will — He will answer (1 John 5:14-15).
James 5:16b says, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
Note the phrase: “as it is working.”
Can God snap His fingers and work the miracle we are praying for?
Without question!
But often, God will take His time, to ensure
- all things are lined up according to His plan and
- to ensure that the miracle we pray for can only be credited to Him and His glory.
What kind of PUSH Prayer are you praying for?
Have you felt discouraged about God’s timing?
Keep praying, trusting in the strength God promises to give in Philippians 4:13.
He is the author of our faith, after all… if He’s put a burden on your heart, He will give you the strength to keep praying, keep believing, keep trusting, keep PUSHing.
Today, as you pray, ask God to renew a sense of trust in your PUSH Prayers.
Ask Him to give you the strength to keep praying and the patience to wait on His perfect timing.
