My Grace-Full Life

5.10.17 Prayer Prompt: Connect with God

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Just as a fitness guru works out daily to strengthen their body, so must Christians “workout” every day.
Spending time in God’s word is how we strengthen our soul; it’s a critical component in a Christian’s life.
When I first became a Christian, I neglected this step.
As a result, I was weak.
When the going got tough, my faith faltered because I hadn’t taken the time to invest in my spiritual health.
Flash forward many years later… reading the Bible is my first activity of a new day.
They say the Bible can literally answer any question or challenge life throws at us.
Now that I’ve invested myself in the Word, I finally understand how very true that is.
The Bible is our guide for understanding God, who He is, and through the pages, we get a glimpse of His greatness.
We begin to know His character, learn about His amazing mercy and grace, and learn the vastness of His love for us.
The Bible is literally life’s how-to manual, and if we will follow God’s plan — we can experience a joy that defies definition… that’s not to say we won’t have challenges, hardships, or obstacles… but we will have the confidence that God is in control.
He has a plan, a greater purpose, and always a reason, even if we don’t understand it.
If daily Bible reading is not part of your routine, I encourage you to make it so.
Today, as you pray, ask God to help you grow closer to Him through His word.
Ask Him to show you what you need in this moment, and be amazed as He reveals Himself!
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
