5.1.17 Prayer Prompt: Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

PRAYER PROMPT ••• I never cease to be amazed at the creativity of God.
When I look outside, I see His fingerprints on the world around me and am fascinated by His endless ideas and ingenuity.
But like many people, when it comes to myself, I see all that lacks, not all that is.
I see every flaw, and fail to be in awe that I too am a product of my Creator’s hand.
How that must hurt Him!
Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
If we are made in God’s image, we can rest assured He took great pride in us – His creation!
To be critical of ourselves is to insult the One who made us!
David gave praise to God for how he was made, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14).
All our perceived flaws are part of what makes us unique!
Any artist would tell you – the flaws are often what distinguishes their work as special.
Perhaps God views us the same way!
You may still want to lose some weight and that’s fine to want to be healthy… but don’t be critical.
As you pray today, thank God for creating you… for molding your heart… for giving you thought and reason… for the nerve endings that enable you to feel… and for all the countless details that went into the design that is uniquely you!
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

  1. I cannot tell you your number times the Lord by his holy spirit has reminded me of this scripture. Finally I studied it and examined it and was left in all that he would make me and set me aside for his purposes. Wow once again GOD’S magnificent word brings revelation and brings life to each one of us when HE opens the eyes of our understanding to see, hear and understand things the way HE wants us to.
I love HIS word. JESUS is the word and he dwelt among us. Thank you for this message you have shared. May GOD add His blessings to all that you do and may his presence be your constant companion for you two are fearfully and wonderfully made set apart for HIS purposes.

  2. Shalom… I love this scripture. The Lord reminds me of it so often and finally I did a study of it and it brought fresh Revelation to my understanding. I love HIS word. Jesus was the word and he dwelt among us. How great and awesome is our GOD that HE would fearfully and wonderfully make us and set us apart for HIS purposes. Praise HIS name forever. May GOD His blessings to all that you write and may HIS presence be your constant companion. GOD bless and keep you always. Hebrews 12 verse 2
