PRAYER PROMPT ••• I stopped going to church when I was 18.
18 years later, when I met my husband, I started back.
But church attendance isn’t indicative of living a life of faith.
As the saying goes, “Going to church doesn’t make one a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes one a Buick.”
It took me another few years to finally figure out how to live a life of faith and walk with God.
For over half my life, I purposefully and willfully separated myself from the body of Christ.
I regret this choice more than any other.
All of us have regrets and all of us wish we could have do-overs.
Thankfully, we serve a God of unlimited grace and forgiveness…
He always gives us 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th… however many chances we need to get right with Him.
While that doesn’t give us the green light to indulge ourselves in the sins of our choosing, it does give us the reassurance that God is always ready to welcome us back into fellowship with Him.
Today, as you pray, thank God for His willingness to forgive over and over.
Thank Him that He is always ready to welcome us home, even if we’ve ignore Him for years.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
