4.6.17 Prayer Prompt: Safety in the Storms

PRAYER PROMPT ••• My dog is terrified of storms and last night, we had a doozie.
Normally, she sleeps on my side of the bed, but I sleep by a window so on nights when it storms, she goes to my husband’s side and sleeps with her head under the bed (she’s a lab — her head is the only thing that fits).
Whatever time it was when I heard the thunder and saw the lightening light up our bedroom, I felt so sorry for my dog.
Because though she never whimpered, she went to her “safe zone,” and spent the night trembling in fear.
By the time I got up, the storm had passed and my dog, feeling safe again, had returned to her normal spot under the window.
It occurred to me when I woke up, with trust and faith in God, everywhere we go is our “safe zone,” because as the saying goes, “The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not sustain you.”
As you pray today, thank God that He is with you, even amid the storms of life… even when things are so bad, you want to hide under the bed so the wind, the rain, the thunder, and lighting can’t reach you.
God’s peace is only a prayer away, and the stronger we grow in our faith, the more we realize how true that is.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
