4.5.18 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Working with the Lion

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Have you ever had someone working against you?
You’re trying to row one way, and they are paddling their oars in the opposite direction.
It’s frustrating.
Jesus knows what that is like too.
In Luke 11:23 NLT, Jesus said, “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.”
As Christians, we are called to follow Jesus; we know that.
But what I love about this verse is His call for our support.
He is asking for us to join Him in the efforts to share the Good News.
To join Team Jesus!
We are all called to do this, whether we are on a mission field, or sitting behind a desk in Corporate America.
In the Message translation, Jesus words are translated as, “This is war, and there is no neutral ground…”
We are in a very real spiritual battle and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to have to answer to God someday and try to explain why I didn’t do my part.
We cannot be passive on this.
The words from Joshua 24:15 NLT still ring true, “….choose today whom you will serve. … But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
We are called to be the light and while certain circumstances won’t allow for us to declare the Gospel openly, that’s okay.
We are still walking, talking advertisements for our faith in Jesus!
We can share by letting our love for Jesus radiate through us.
Besides, as the saying goes, “actions speak louder than words!”
The ways we react and the way we treat others are testimonies to whether we are working with Jesus, or against Him.
Since Revelation 5:5-6 refer to Jesus as both “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” and “a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered,” we are working with the Lion!
Today, as we pray, let us offer praise to the Lion for inviting us to work with Him, and let us thank Him for being the slaughtered Lamb for our sins.
Let us pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us to work with Jesus.
Pray that our lives reflect “Team Jesus” in every situation!
