PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Job 19:25 says, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.”
What a mic drop verse.
It’s one of those verses that when I read it, I know I can’t offer any valuable insight.
I just want to sit and reread it because the overwhelmingly profound and incredible truth is that YES!
Our Redeemer lives!
As we face Monday and a busy week, let’s all agree to tuck this truth into our mental inbox so we can retrieve it often.
Especially when we’re frustrated over stupid stuff.
Stuck in traffic?
No problem—my Redeemer lives!
Scrambling over last-minute homework?
No problem—my Redeemer lives!
The boss wants to talk to you about that ongoing problem?
No problem—my Redeemer lives!
At the end of the day, the truth that Jesus lives is all that matters.
Our days are filled with things that seem so important but at the end of it all, are meaningless.
I’m reading a book by a pastor named Chris Hodges and he shared about a challenge he gave his congregation—30 Days to Live.
He challenged them to spend 30 days as if those were their last.
It sounds like such an interesting experiment in prioritizing!
Obviously, we still have bills to pay, dinners to cook, and families to raise.
And the sad reality is that the laundry isn’t going to fold itself.
But take heart and remember our Redeemer lives!
The day-to-day seems so insignificant next to that truth!
You may still need to write that report and meet that deadline…
But remember that you have a Redeemer who cares enough to be involved in statistical analysis, balanced budgets, or car repairs.
There is nothing too great or too small for our Redeemer!
Today, as you pray, praise Jesus for being our living Redeemer—the one death could not hold!
Ask Him to help you as He said He would in Matthew 11:28-30.
And ask the Holy Spirit to help you keep priorities in perspective to what truly matters!
