4.20.17 Prayer Prompt: Hardened Hearts

PRAYER PROMPT ••• When we get hurt, we have a tendency to build walls around our hearts.
We think these barriers will prevent us from future pain.
However, they often end up costing us much…
We miss out on close relationships and we lose opportunities to make memories…
All because we were busy hardening our hearts in an effort to avoid emotional hurt.
A hardened heart also prevents us from God’s blessings.
There’s a great benefit to breaking down those barriers and allowing our hearts to be tender.
When we allow God to mold our softened heart, rather than chisel away at a stony one, we can enjoy this life the way He meant us to….
We can love others with the unconditional love Jesus modeled for us!
We can make memories to laugh about or console us in our sorrow.
Best of all — we can worship God our Father with the joy of a full and tender heart, that is soft enough to mold to His will!
Pray today that God will help soften your heart, and help you remove the stony barriers that are preventing you from sharing your life — and God’s love — with others.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
