4.13.17 Prayer Prompt:  Open Doors

PRAYER PROMPT ••• Doors aren’t what one would consider particularly exciting, until you watch a game show. “What’s behind Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3? Which will you choose?”
In this situation, the doors offer endless possibilities as we ponder what may await us once the door opens.
The analogy of God opening and closing doors isn’t new… the Bible references it in several passages.
Though Christians have embraced this analogy for years, we are far from perfect about understanding it, or knowing when to move forward.
When God opens doors in our lives, sometimes the door easily swings wide open, fully revealing an obvious plan God has made for us.
However, God doesn’t always rush into things.
Sometimes, the doors He presents us with are slow, creaky doors that take their time to open.
We may get a glimpse of what’s on the other side, but we are to wait.
Waiting for those slow, creaky doors may give us pause for thought.
Is this door for me?
Today, as you pray, ask God to open the doors He has planned for you, and to give you the courage to walk through as you follow His plan for you.
If you’re uncertain of a creaky, slow-opening door, ask God to make it clear for you.
Ask Him for the patience to wait on His timing, rather than either rushing ahead to push open a door that’s not ready to be fully opened… or trying to pull it shut.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
