4.10.18 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Growing in Jesus

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• My husband and I moved into our house almost three years ago, and early on, Wayne started making changes to the yard.
One of the first things—he planted a Japanese Maple in front of the house.
I walk by this tree every day on the way to and from my car.
It’s still quite small and without leaves, it really looks more like a stick in the ground.
But yesterday, I came home from work and it’s like all the leaves decided to burst out from the branches at once.
Our little tree looks like a tree!
And a very pretty one too!
How like a tree we all are.
Don’t we all go through seasons too?
Sometimes, our leaves are gone and we feel bare, exposed to the world.
Yet, our Heavenly Father never fails us.
If we persevere, stay rooted in His word, He will clothe us with understanding and wisdom and enable us to grow in Him.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NLT says, “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
Whatever season you’re in, I pray you’ll keep trusting in God.
He is faithful.
Always, always faithful.
Don’t be distracted by lies, but keep reaching for the Son.
He will shine on you through wind, rain, and every other storm life throws at you.
He has provided a constant source of wisdom and encouragement through the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit.
Let the Word feed your soul and the Spirit shower you with comfort and peace so you too can produce the Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
Today, as you pray, give praise to the One who causes the trees to bloom and grow and the One from whom all things are possible.
Pray that no matter what season you’re in, you will reach for Jesus, lean on the Holy Spirit, and be fueled by His Word.
