PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• My husband and I are adopting two new kittens this weekend.
We have two older cats (15 and 9 years, respectively), and you may remember that our cat Henry died in January.
The plan was to adopt only one, but after meeting the kitten and his brother, we decided it would be nice for the new kitten to have a friend his own age (plus, we are rather smitten with both of them).
Ever since we learned that our paperwork was approved, my husband has been hard at work.
He’s been adding on to the existing cat tower that is in the basement and building a privacy cabinet for the litter box.
We’re very excited about welcoming these little kitties to our house tomorrow!
As I was pouring my coffee this morning, getting ready for prayer time, and mentally going through my to-do list for the day (which includes making a no-sew curtain for the litter-box privacy cabinet), it occurred to me that as we prepare for the new cats, preparations are also being made for me and you.
It was a humbling moment as the words Jesus spoke came to mind.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:3).
I’ve said it before—it’s no coincidence that during His time on earth, Jesus was a carpenter.
And now, He is at work in heaven, preparing a place for us…
For anyone who has trusted in Him, He’s creating a forever home for us with Him.
And how magnificent it’s going to be!
After all, God took six days to create the earth and universe.
Since Jesus is God’s Son, and He is God in human flesh—can you imagine how extraordinary heaven is going to be since He’s been working on it for thousands of years?!
When I think about the beauty of the world made in six days compared to what the glory of heaven must be, it’s completely mind-blowing.
Today, as you pray, thank Jesus for His hard work as He prepares a heavenly home for you.
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior, ask Him to be yours today. He is eager to prepare your heavenly home too!
