3.7.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: The Mona Lisa & the Creator

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• The Mona Lisa has been studied and analyzed for hundreds of years, but no one knows (or will ever know) that painting the way Leonardo da Vinci knew it.
Because he made it.
Others can be knowledgeable, sure, but not as da Vinci was.
No one knows anything better than the creator.
And the same is true for us.
And like the Mona Lisa, there are people who will see us, observe us, and make assessments of us.
They may even recognize characteristics and qualities that few others see.
But no one, including our own selves, will ever know us as God does.
In Psalm 139:23-24, King David wrote, “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
This entire Psalm is about how God made us and knows us.
How He even knows our thoughts before we think them, and our words before we speak them.
David’s request in these verses was to ask God to search his heart.
We should pray this prayer ourselves…
Pray that God will search us and reveal areas of sin so that we can make adjustments and tweaks over matters we may not be aware of unless they are pointed out.
He knows us and loves us despite our mistakes and from our gratitude for His love and salvation, we should be as transparent with God as David.
God already knows anyway so there’s no reason to hold back and be hesitant with Him.
Today, as you pray, thank God for being completely knowledgeable about you from the inside out.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray for deliverance from sinful habits you aren’t even aware of…
And to be ever-moldable and flexible as He continues to shape you into who He wants you to be.
